About

7th April: Work In Progress...

This map of Bristol's graffiti and street art has been put together by me Neil Clark and with help from Andy Wright. The aim of the site is to help you locate and find out about Bristol's street art. Hopefully the map will continue to evolve and remain reasonably current and comprehensive, and if you'd like to help with this then get in touch. The idea came about when working on the Not Just Banksy event at UWE (Nov 2008), which was a celebration of Bristol's graffiti & street art culture.

Graffiti? Street Art? Throw ups? Tagging?

The map contains examples of the full spectrum of graffiti & street art in Bristol. Some of it is commissioned and legal, some of it isn't. The emphasis is more on the artistic side of things but you'll find some throws up and the occasional interesting tag.

Go and explore

If you are in Bristol then you can use the map to help you get to know some key locations and hidden gems. Obvioulsy there's Stokes Croft but also take a walk around the following; Montpelier, St Pauls, St Werburghs, St Marks Road (Eastvile/Easton), Dean Lane Skate park (Bedminster).

Want to learn more?

Check out the Links page for recommended sites, and these two books are well worth getting hold of "Children of the Can - 25 Years of Bristol Graffiti" and "Banksy's Bristol - Home Sweet Home". And go and see the Crimes of Passion exhibition in Bristol until 2nd May.

How current are the photos?

Most of photos have been taken in the last 6 months, bear in mind that some graffiti can last for years in Bristol but some only lasts for days. Key locations such as Stokes Croft practice boards, Dean Lane Skate Park, the Riverside legal wall change frequently, so expect to see different artwork in these locations now than the photos on the map.
